Membership
Eligibility
Regular Members: All physicians and healthcare providers who have obtained a license to practice medicine (western or Chinese) in the state of Minnesota are eligible for regular membership in AMCP. These include retired or other physicians who were licensed but no longer maintain an active license. Physicians in active residency or fellowship training programs are also eligible for regular membership.
Associate Members: Physicians who are not licensed to practice medicine, but are graduates of a medical school in United States or Canada, international medical graduates certified by Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), physicians from China who are involved in health care delivery and biomedical research are eligible for associate membership in AMCP.
Honorary Members: Any person who is committed to the AMCP missions and has contributed significantly to AMCP or to the progress in health care delivery and biomedical research may become an Honorary Member upon the approval by AMCP Board of Directors.
Student Members: Medical students are eligible to become a student member of the AMCP.
Lifetime Members: Regular and associate members who have made a long-term commitment to support AMCP and have met the criteria of financial support to AMCP as described below may become lifetime members.
Membership Annual Dues
Honorary Members: Annual dues are waived for honorary members.
Regular Members: Staff physicians $50; TCMD physicians $25; Physicians in training $25; Associate members $25; Student members $5.
Lifetime Members: Regular and associate members who have made a one-time contribution 10x the amount of their annual membership dues meet the financial qualification for lifetime members. Lifetime members' annual dues are permanently waived.
Payment Requirement: Annual dues are payable upon acceptance to AMCP and before March 1 of each calendar year. The payment of annual dues is a prerequisite for active AMCP membership. Only active AMCP members for more than 2 years have the privilege of voting or running for elected positions.
Voting Privileges
Each member has one vote. Voting by proxy is not allowed for traditional meeting. Regular members, associate members, student members as long as maintain the membership status will have voting privileges.
